- TASTING NOTE: Fleshy and fruit driven with finely etched minerality. Layers of citrus and stone fruit and bracing acidity drives a long, saline finish.
- ABOUT THE WINE: Les Tuffeaux is a cuvée blended from 30- to 70-year old vines from various vineyards on clay and flint with a base of soft limestone known as Tuffeaux. After pressing, the alcoholic fermentation is carried out by indigenous yeasts in 620L demi-muids which can last up to six months. Malolactic fermentation is not allowed. Aging is carried out on fine lees, always in demi-muids. 15-20 g/l of residual sugar.
- ABOUT THE PRODUCER: François Chidaine is one of the Loire Valley’s great success stories. After finishing viticultural school in the mid-1980s, François went to work alongside his father, Yves, who had only four hectares of leased vineyards in the appellation of Montlouis, in the Touraine. When Yves retired in 1989, he passed the torch to François. Soon after, he started experimenting with organic and biodynamic farming, and by 2003, he was certified in both methods of farming. When in 2002, he and his cousin Nicolas Martin bought Vouvray’s prestigious Clos Baudoin, and in 2006 he bought several of the parcels he had been leasing, this small artisan farmer became one of the Loire Valley’s most serious players.

Q: Can someone else pickup my order?
A: Yes if they have your receipt. However all alcohol orders must be picked up by an individual 18 year or older. Proof of age and sobriety are required as per RSA regulation.
