- TASTING NOTE: "This is slightly lighter of touch than in past vintages, although it is still a dense, compact and richly flavored wine. A stellar vintage and gentle extraction (20 days) on skins in oak foudre have helped. Pointed northern Rhone-like aromas of blueberries, violets, white pepper, dried nori, black olives and cloves. An undercurrent of briar and hedgerow imparts a welcome savoriness. The sinewy tannic mettle suggests this will age well and grow with stature in time. Drink or hold." 94 POINTS - JAMES SUCKLING
- ABOUT THE WINE: Sourced exclusively from Block 12 (2.3 Ha) which sits on a south-east facing, ironstone sandy outcrop. Hand-picked on the 26th March, 20% whole bunches, 30% whole berries mechanically sorted, 50% crushed in open fermenters and on skins for 20 days. A gentle maceration principle of wetting the cap and only draining and returning when reductive. Wild yeast ferment. No pressings are used in this wine. Exclusively matured in 25 hL French Oak foudres, 50% new and 50% one and two-year-old, for 16 months. To be bottled in November 2022. Certified Organic/Biodynamic.
- ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Yangarra Estate Vineyards is an organic and biodynamic certified winery in Mclaren Vale. Their focus is Rhone Valley varietals-Shiraz and Grenache of course- but also Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, Bourboulenc, Picpoul Noir, Clairette Blanc and Counoise. Winemaking follows the gentle practices in the vineyard and tried and tested techniques of old, such as wild fermentation, basket pressing, amphoras, ceramic eggs and large format oak foudre.

A: Yes if they have your receipt. However all alcohol orders must be picked up by an individual 18 year or older. Proof of age and sobriety are required as per RSA regulation.
