- TASTING NOTE: Cherry ripe! Dark red and black fruits, chocolate and white peppercorns on the nose. The palate is full of rich red fruits and savoury spice character with supportive oak tannin and a refined acid line.
- ABOUT THE WINE: Fruit is sourced fro the original 1971 planting of the Alkoomi farm. Open ferment with three to four hand plunges a day. Extended skin contact before gentle pressing to French oak (1/3 new) for 19 months of ageing. Aged for a further four years in bottle before release.
- ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Alkoomi - an Aboriginal word meaning ‘a place we chose’ - is one of Australia’s most remote wineries, tucked away in the cool climate wine region of Frankland River, 350km south of Perth in the vast Great Southern of Western Australia. One of WA’s largest family owned and operated wine producers, Alkoomi is run by the 2nd and 3rd generation owners Sandy and Rod Hallett, with their daughters Laura, Emily and Molly. Together they passionately follow in the footsteps of Alkoomi founders Merv and Judy Lange (Sandy’s parents), who pioneered the Frankland wine region with their small plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling, and a little Shiraz and Malbec in 1971, establishing a reputation for making varietally expressive wines with exceptional depth of flavour.

Pickup is available during our opening hours:
Tuesday - Saturday: 12:00pm - 9:00pm
Sundays, Mondays & Public Holidays: Closed
Q: Can someone else pickup my order?
A: Yes if they have your receipt. However all alcohol orders must be picked up by an individual 18 year or older. Proof of age and sobriety are required as per RSA regulation.
