Partial whole cluster, partial de-stemmed and a small component direct pressed. 6-8 days maceration, Aged for 12 months on lees in stainless steel tank -
ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Located in the south west of France, two hours north of Toulouse, Cahors is an area rich in history that predates the middle ages. Côt, the local name of Malbec, is king here. La Calmette was established in 2015 by Maya Sallée and Nicolas Fernandez, having discovered via Fabien Jouves, a side of Cahors they didn’t realise existed. With Oenology and agronomist degrees, they have travelled extensively and have experience working at Château Margaux, Opus One and Domaine Gauby in Rousillon. Located in Trespoux-Rassiels, on the limestone plateau overlooking Cahors, the soils here are what make these wines truly remarkable, with all Maya and Nicolas’s 10 hectares of vineyards situated here in a mix of clay limestone, Kimmeridgian limestone and iron rich clay. All vineyards have been farmed organically since the beginning and were certified organic in 2019, and biodynamic certification from 2020.
Nicolas and Maya believe in assemblage of vintages, especially when faced with several hot and dry years. Ensuring a complete wine, they found the blend of the two vintages more balanced and whole than the individual expression of each.

Q: Can someone else pickup my order?
A: Yes if they have your receipt. However all alcohol orders must be picked up by an individual 18 year or older. Proof of age and sobriety are required as per RSA regulation.
