- ABOUT THE WINE: The name of this wine pays homage to the limestone based Alberese soil that predominates in Chianti and to which the Sangiovese grape is so amenable. Manual harvest from organically manged vines, 30-50 years old. Natural ferment in stainless steel and cement vats with a short maceration on skins. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
- ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Fattoria di Sammontana is an organic and biodynamic farm located in Montelupo Fiorentino, along the Arno valley, just 20km from Florence. They tend about 13 hectares of vineyards and more than 3,000 olive trees, planted between 70 and 150 meters above sea level. The soil is alluvial, and as such is full of stones, gravel, and pebbles of various sizes that are technically referred to as “skeletons”. This soil, usually defined as “ungrateful”, is the one that gives character and personality to their wines. Certified organic since 2009 and started biodynamic viticulture in 2012. They follow a philosophy of minimum intervention in the cellar, with natural ferments, minimal sulfur and minimal fining and filtration .

Q: Can someone else pickup my order?
A: Yes if they have your receipt. However all alcohol orders must be picked up by an individual 18 year or older. Proof of age and sobriety are required as per RSA regulation.
