- TASTING NOTE: Juicy and bright with pleasing warmth. Medium bodied with fleshy notes of red berries and a fresh line of acid and grippy, grainy tannin.
- ABOUT THE WINE: Fruit is sourced from the Visette Hill in Monforte d’Alba. To enhance the qualities of freshness and fragrance, a first, cold maceration of 36 hours is carried out, followed by a maceration of another five days. Fermentation takes place exclusively with indigenous yeasts. Matured in small oak casks for 12 months.
- ABOUT THE PRODUCER: For three generations the Ghisolfi family has been running this winery just outside of the southern most Barolo village Monforte d’Alba. The vineyards, purchased in 1985, are in what is now known as ‘Cru Bussia’, a highly desirable sub-zone of Barolo. Ghisolfi are recognised for their finesse and depth, with a reputation for flying under the radar. Viticulture is un-certified organic and the work in the winery is towards the traditional (long macerations, old, large oak) for their Barolos while their wines that are designed for drinking young (Barbera, Langhe Nebbiolo) favour shorter macerations and use smaller format oak to capture the freshness and varietal aromatics of the wines. Not well known outside of Italy, they offer great value and outstanding quality.

A: Yes if they have your receipt. However all alcohol orders must be picked up by an individual 18 year or older. Proof of age and sobriety are required as per RSA regulation.
