ABOUT THE PRODUCER: "Though only in his late 20s, Jean-Baptiste is no newbie when it comes to winemaking. He holds diplomas in viticulture and oenology, as well as having undertaken multiple apprenticeships throughout France and New Zealand! It was during the harvest of 2014 while working with his father on the family domaine when he decided it was time to branch out and take ownership of his individual style of winemaking. 2015 marked the first vintage for JB after taking on 3 hectares of the family’s seven: one of Pernand-Vergelesses Blanc, one of Pernand-Vergelesses Rouge 1er Cru Les Fichots, and one a mix of Bourgogne Rouge, Aloxe-Corton, and Pernand-Vergelesses Blanc 1er Cru Sous Frétille. We first visited his tiny cellar in 2017 when there would have been less than 10 barrels all up. His domaine extended when his father retired in 2018, then extended further again in 2021 when another grower offered a small selection of vineyards for JB to farm. As of the 2021 vintage, Jean-Baptiste works a total of 6 hectares, now selling off some of his fruit while keeping the very best for himself.
JB believes that first and foremost, the environment must be respected when working the vineyards. Although he is not yet certified organic, he strives towards minimal treatments, closely monitoring weather and growing conditions and picking the fruit at optimum ripeness. His wines are made with an incredibly light touch, fermenting with indigenous yeasts and adding only minimal sulphur. His wines are elegant and precise: the whites showing incredible freshness and delicacy, the reds vibrant with fruit and immaculate balance. This Domaine is not to be overlooked – Jean-Baptiste’s hard work and ambition are to be reckoned with, and we believe that he’ll be one of the new generation’s Burgundy greats." Vinous (Importer)

A: Yes if they have your receipt. However all alcohol orders must be picked up by an individual 18 year or older. Proof of age and sobriety are required as per RSA regulation.
