- TASTING NOTE: Crushed green apple, citrus and saline/mineral complexity. A bracing line of acid with with generous palate weight define this elegant wine.
- ABOUT THE WINE: The vineyards are made up of 4 plots over 1.43 hectares. The vines (of 56 years of average age) are located in the village of Davayé, in the Les Crèches climat grown in clay-limestone soil. Immediately upon arrival, the grapes are pressed (pneumatic). Fermentation in temperature-controlled vats for 4 to 6 weeks using only indigenous yeasts. A complete malolactic fermentation is carried out in order to preserve the wine’s complexity. Aging is in 20% in vats and 80% in oak barrels for 12 months (French oak from Jupille forest, 10% new), and then 6 months in vats.
- ABOUT THE PRODUCER: The story of this family estate began in 1980, when Jocelyne and Michel Paquet created Domaine des Valanges, located in Davayé, a small village in the Maconnais region, which initially covered 6 hectares. Recognized for its Saint-Veran, the estate’s wines were soon being exported around the world. Over the years, Jocelyne and Michel transmitted their love of the vineyards and winemaking to their three sons, Jean-Baptiste, Mathieu and Camille. Expansion followed into Pouilly-Fuisse and Macon in 2014 and in 2016, the three sons took over the now 12 hectare family property. Today the estate has be rebranded as Famille Paquet with Camille managing the vineyards and winemaking. He is moving to a less interventionist approach to winemaking, with the estate certified as organic in 2021 and with increasing use of biodynamic principals in the vineyard.

A: Yes if they have your receipt. However all alcohol orders must be picked up by an individual 18 year or older. Proof of age and sobriety are required as per RSA regulation.
