- TASTING NOTE: Fruit is sourced from outside the Domaine's estate, from further north in Rully, in the Cote Chalonnaise. This is a wine of energy, with a racy, citrus drive. It is reminiscent of Chablis in style, but with a gentleness on the palate from a deft touch of oak. Perfect lunch time Burgundy.
- ABOUT THE WINE / PRODUCER: Domaine Monthélie-Douhairet-Porcheret, to give it its full name, was founded over three hundred years ago. In the last century, its rise was due to Armande Douhairet, who never married, and was known affectionately as ‘Miss’. She was one of the few women to run a Burgundy Domaine at that time, and forged a reputation for distinctive, terroir-driven wines. Her adoptive son André Porcheret (who has also worked at the Hospice de Beaune and Domaine Leroy) was joined by his grand-daughter Cataldina in 2004, and she now runs the 6.5 ha with the assistance of her partner Vincent. She has carried on the work of her great-grandmother and produces pure, elegant wines from Monthélie, Volnay, Pommard, Meursault and Rully that perfectly reflect their origins. The wines are all simply made with fruit handpicked and rigorously sorted before de-stemming. Elevage is in predominantly old oak (up to 30% for the premier cru reds), 12 months for the whites, 15 months for the reds.

Pickup is available during our opening hours:

Q: Can someone else pickup my order?
A: Yes if they have your receipt. However all alcohol orders must be picked up by an individual 18 year or older. Proof of age and sobriety are required as per RSA regulation.
