- TASTING NOTE: In the glass this wine has an intense ruby red colour. The nose is bright and complex with hints of black cherry, plum and spices. The palate is earthy, with lovely dark red fruit character and well-defined but soft tannins. The finish is long and persistent.
- ABOUT THE WINE: All the vines are farmed with organic viticulture, and Ercole employs green-harvesting for low yielding premium fruit to make it into the wines. The vineyard is in the revered Aglianico site of Contrada in Campore at 500m asl with limestone/clay soils and a South/South-East exposure. The Aglianico is hand harvested, fermented with ambient yeasts and macerated in barrel for two weeks, then matured in barriques for 12 months.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER: Ercole Zarrella took over his grandparents vineyards in 2004, and immediately pulled out any vines that were not indigenous to Campania, and planted Fiano and Aglianico in the move to bottle estate wines.
Their philosophy is a simple one: low production in the vineyards means higher quality in the cellars. This principle informs all their decisions throughout production. The duo regularly performs green-harvests and employs no chemical pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. Though their first estate-bottled vintage was only in 2004, these experienced growers regularly boast 3 Bicchieri from Gambero Rosso for their stellar Fiano.

A: Yes if they have your receipt. However all alcohol orders must be picked up by an individual 18 year or older. Proof of age and sobriety are required as per RSA regulation.
