- TASTING NOTE: Opulent, with brioche and lemon curd notes and a bright, energetic bead. Must try for those who favour the house wines of Krug or Bollinger.
- ABOUT THE WINE: Fruit is sourced from the steep, terraced slopes of the Dorsheim Goldloch vineyard. Grapes are whole bunch pressed before vinification and the wine spends 128 months on lees before disgorgement.
- ABOUT THE PRODUCER: The Diel family are seventh generation farmers who have been working their land in the Nahe since 1806. The estate has 25 hectares across multiple vineyards dedicated mostly to Riesling, though they do grow Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc as well. Like many European vineyards the estate was not always dedicated to growing grapes with that conversion happening under the stewardship of the Grandfather of current owner and winemaker Caroline Diel. Her father Armin spent a further three decades converting the vineyards to focus on Riesling and the Pinot varieties and establishing Schlossgut Diel as one of the great German wineries before handing over the reigns to his daughter and her husband Sylvain in 2019.

Q: Can someone else pickup my order?
A: Yes if they have your receipt. However all alcohol orders must be picked up by an individual 18 year or older. Proof of age and sobriety are required as per RSA regulation.
